"the cult", a small club in the highlands of north-rine-westfalia
(arnsberg-neheim, sauerland), eventually the starting-point of the
GOA-movement, remains at its direction and organizes as good as in
earlier times cool and relaxed parties.
the deco-makers "shiva's dreams", no question at all, has done a deep
grab in the magic box in order to create the right atmosphere, no
mumbo-jumbo and no f*cking fake. their blacklight deco and
video-performance stand in strong harmony to the fantasmorgasmic goa
sounds and let recognize the philosophy of this style. dragons in
shrill and glaring colours and other animals created by fantasy with
distorted views stretch their greedy necks on giant pictures at the
walls. and give the followers of GOA movement the feeling, if letting
their minds flow to dip in another dimension. the medium music, the
boombastic sounds, that we owe the greatest good vinyl are guarantors
for a good party in this night. because the representing dj's produce
enormous steam at their work. especially the genius and tremendous two
hours lasting mega live gig of digital sun, who must have had bloody
fingers as a consequence of hard engagement in order to give the mob
hell. irresistable and impossible to be not in steady movement. the
vibrations kept the jerking bodies of GOA mankind, captured in
something like a time continuum and seemed to release an obsession of
effect. those who were willing to relaxe in spite of dance marathon
and who manage to escape from the growing spell of hard hammering
grooves joined the cosy ambient sounds in the chill-area. there they
had to stand the bass-invasion, that gave them the feeling "hey man, i
get the crisis. each moment my ears get wings and fly away !".
paralysed they stared at the mega-palms in the wonderful
mushroom-cultures that colonized the room and had the smell of gyros
in their nose ! (fatamorgana or just a mania or divine vision) alice
in wonderland, if she would have had the biting sound of GOA in her
ears, would have fallen into coma, because of tremendous flood of
stimuli.
further on sally from flying rhino uk, greg from full moon production,
sebastian from polytox and ex animo from highlands cared for the
musical requirements of the followers (by appointment of the queen her
majesty and king helmut).

TROMMELMASCHINE

'I can't help... Somehow this reminds me to the Zeche in Bochum', was
what I thought (and dared to tell my friends) when I entered that
tower, passing bulldoggy doormen. They installed some nice deco but
obviously the room was to big. And what was that? I tried to dance but
it wasn't working... I recognized: No base! And then: Oh, there is
something - very quiet somewhere in the background. To check it out I
had to leave the dancefloor, climb up stairs, paths, chimneys: It was
the monitorbox of the dj! Exactly 1/2 a second late on the dancefloor.
This was how it started.
5h later I felt something like that: Oh fuck, what sort of
bretzel-music is he playing now. He's killing me. Can't dance anymore.
Base was back, Planet B.E.N. arrived and had propertly a good day (or
at least liked to play pushy party music). There weren't sooo much
people but I guess most of them gone crazy already (hmm, sorry, can't
really tell). The deco had started to invite me in. I wasn't sure if I
should - 'cause of the good music. There were some pictures by felix
and although I later on met him, I'm sure he's definitely not human.
There were also some mushrooms by Ines of magic eyes. These were
pretty interesting, cause if you approached them you recognized that
they weren't normal mushrooms. Faces came out of them and... you know
these stories...
Well, all of that ended with a chewed up mouth. That chewed up, that
there came a virus and said 'Hallo, I'm Angine, may I join you?!'. And
so he did. And now I can't eat, can't speak, can't sleep, but I still
can write.

Voov Experience is the biggest northern german trance open air. When
Voov started 6 years ago it very soon reached a cult status because of
the unique atmosphere. Nowadays it is very huge, around 20.000 people
met last year. For some people it got to huge, but - in my opinion -
the atmosphere is still good. It's not just that the organisers are
doing a great job decorating the site but also a lot of the guests
build up spacy mini-dancefloors in the "parking area". Make own
opinion.
